This month, we celebrated the 2018 Work of Art graduating class, sending the cadre of 17 students off to pursue their creative career or college endeavors. The graduation program–attended by family, friends and supporters–highlighted student artwork and performances. Students heard from Inner-City Arts alumnus Kenneth Chancey and Lucy Flores, Vice President of Public Affairs at mitú.
Vera R. Campbell, Inner-City Arts Founders Board Member and Work of Art visionary, presented four students with scholarships which enable them to pursue their first year of college debt-free. Lottie was awarded a scholarship that satisfies the full financial needs of her first year at Rhode Island School of Design.
Other scholarship recipients will be attending Swarthmore College, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Davis in the fall. Thank you to Vera R. Campbell and members of the Founders Board for supporting students for years after they leave this campus. And thank you to our students for saying yes to their creativity!
